American-British envy
Not what you think.
So much American and British arrogance.
Which ruler among the 197 countries in the world can order his engineers to build a supersonic transport?
I remember the mockery at the time: the Concorde was a copy of the Concorde.
Was that possible? What if the Russians could spy and copy and reproduce a hundred tons of design paper when there were no computers, everything drawn by hand, hundreds of thousands of details, a billion math calculations with slide rules and calculating machines that only did addition, subtraction and multiplication.
Only journalists and politicians' marketers are capable of creating a fantasy like this.
Congratulations to the Soviets, not even the US could do it; only a pool of French, English, Spanish, German and Dutch aircraft manufacturers managed after eight years, then, to make the Concorde fly at a loss for thirty years of pure stubbornness only accumulating commercial losses in the operation of the aircraft whose order for 100 aircraft ended up in 14 financed by the States. Shut up.
