Washington has always used Europe as a shield against belligerents and archenemies, it has kept all of Hitler's fury away from its territory, after all they are thousands of miles away from Europe, so it can finance and it only had the trouble of facing the pack of German submersibles to help England during the Second World War.

To end the conflict in Ukraine in 24 hours, it would be enough for Russia to immediately place its navy on the east coast of the USA where 80% of the population lives, of course ships are easy to sink, but the SLBM submarines would remain as they always are on the coast prepared to destroy the America, the ships, more than 300, would it be to put political pressure on the bullies of the North American Congress always ready to sacrifice a European to defend the intact US industries and its Armored Economy from the wars and frictions in far away Afghanistan, or provoke far-off North Korea and run back to their Norfolk bases on vacation, or shake the Chinese into the Taiwan Channel far away from Miami, but when the guns were placed in Cuba, the Americans panicked and immediately negotiated with Khrushchev in 1962.

Obviously it would be a military exercise disguised as training with the navies of Cuba, Iran, Venezuela and Nicaragua, with 400 warships, support, and supplies, the message would be perfectly received by the belligerent Yankes and rabid confederate war mercenaries.
