Democracy in Computing: AI
AI, marketed as Artificial Intelligence, is the only branch or technological science that doesn't need large technological centers with supercomputers, just a sheet of paper and a pencil, and a cell phone or a desktop or a mid-range laptop to develop applications.
Except for neural network topologies, which are still experimental and of dubious and complex results, inflexible and with limited dedicated use in predefined hardware, AI does not depend on the special design of logical digital circuits, nor on specific dedicated operating systems.
AI can be developed on any data processing equipment, making it extremely democratic, accessible, portable, scalable, and universally open source.
Any country can be the new protagonist in AI, from Gambia to Finland, indiscriminately, as long as it has a technician in linguistics, in computer science, in declarative AI algorithms, and in heuristics and declarative logic, with training in fundamental theoretical AI accessible in the available literature, as it depends only on purely human brain ability.
